Day 1 Arrive – Rome – Hotel
On arrival at Rome international airport you will be transferred to the hotel. Check in to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
 
Day 2 Rome – Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel & St. Peter’s Basilica
 Breakfast at our hotel and we start our day with a visit to one of the top museums in the world, the "Vatican Museums". A large bronze gate will lead us "as if by magic" from Rome to the smallest state in the world, the Vatican. We will admire huge collections of invaluable works of art & sculpture culminating in the famous Sistine Chapel.
 
Highlights

• Admire the chapel of the Apostolic Palace, which decoration is a reference to the Temple of the Old Testament.
• Discover a huge exhibit of masterpieces, like wall paintings, architecture, frescoes, ceilings which are made by the greatest artisans of the Renaissance.
• Visit the Basilica of St. Petrou & the homonymous square, which is the largest papal church, with hundreds of statues inside, culminating in the Pieta of Michael Angelo.

 
Extra info: Vatican is an independent state, on the west side of the city of Rome and is a continuation of the ecclesiastical (or even papal) state of the Middle Ages. It was founded on February 11, 1929 by the Lateran Treaty during Mussolini's Fascist regime. It is characterized as the smallest independent state, in terms of its area (0.44 sq. km.) and its population (numbers about 826 people). The Vatican is home to the Holy See, the spiritual and administrative center of the Catholic Church. The election of the Pope is made by a conclave of cardinals, who are under 80 years old. National holiday is March 13, election date (2013) of the new Pope. The Vatican is the only country in the western world (along with the Philippines worldwide) where divorce is prohibited.
 
Day 3 Rome – Pompeii – Naples – Rome (Full day) 250klm x 2
Breakfast at our hotel and departure for Naples, the third largest city in Italy and an important port. Naples is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. There we will see the beach with the palace of the Spaniards, the castle of Danzu, the Stoa of Uberto and the largest opera house of San Carlo. Free time for a walk in the picturesque Via Toledo. Then we head to the necropolis of Pompeii which was destroyed in 79 AD after a terrible eruption of Vesuvius.

• View the perimeter walls, the baths, the Porta Marina, the Vetri mansion, the Temple of Apollo, the ancient market and the theater.

Extra info: Pompeii was a city in southern Italy, near present-day Naples. It was founded at the foot of Mount Vesuvius in the 5th century BC. century by Greeks off the coast of Campania. Day 4 Rome – Panoramic & Walking Tour – Rome By Night (Optional)
Breakfast at our hotel and we start the city tour from the catacombs of St. Callixtus, where we will see the crypts of the Popes and the tombs of the first Christians, as well as the architecturally impressive catacombs of Domitilla, where their royal church is dedicated to St. witnesses Nirio and Achillion.

• Cross the Appia Street and view the most famous Baths (Thermae) of the emperor Caracalla that operated for over 300 years.

Free time for shopping, coffee and food. Return to the hotel. For the evening we suggest you follow us to "Rome by Night", a special tour of the historic center of the city among its illuminated buildings, which will surely impress you with its different face in the starlight.
 
Extra info: The Amphitheatrum Flavium or better known as the Colosseum is the largest ancient amphitheater in the world. It could hold 45,000 spectators and had an ellipse shape with a circumference of 524 meters. Its dimensions were huge: 156 x 188 meters and its height reached 48 meters and had 4 floors. The the large number of gates allowed the Colosseum to fill up in 15 minutes, and to empty in just 5. The arena was led by two gates: the "gate of the flesh of life", from which gladiators entered the arena, and the "funeral gate" from which the dead of the battle were removed.
The Colosseum remained legendary as the center of the bloody spectacles enjoyed by the Roman court during its decline. The orchestra was well-organized for naval battles, duels, and beast battles funded by the Roman emperors. Martyrs of Christians were also suffered there. After earthquakes and looting over the centuries it is today a ruin and one of the most popular tourist attractions of modern Rome.
 

Day 5 Rome – Siena (city tour) – Florence 300klm

Breakfast at our hotel and departure for Florence with a stopover in Siena, the most beautiful medieval city in Italy, Unesco World Heritage Site.

• Wander in "Piazza del Campo", the square where the heart of the city beats, which houses the Palazzo Pubblico and the Torre del Mangia, a tower with 300 steps and views of the rooftops of the city, for many the most impressive Italian square.

Day 6 Florence – City tour

 
Breakfast at our hotel and we start our tour of this famous city - museum, during which we will meet the Piazza de la Signoria, the impressive Church of the Holy Cross (Santa Croce), burial place of 270 prominent Florentines, among whom Galileo, Dante, Michael Angelo and Machiavelli, Ponte Vecchio with the houses and shops that seem to hover over the river.

• Admire the historic Cathedral Square with the bell tower, the Virgin Mary of the Flowers Del Fiore) with Brunelleschi's famous dome - a trademark of the city - and the historic Baptistery.

Free time for coffee, shopping and food. We also suggest you visit the most important gallery in Italy, the Uffizi Gallery, where you will have the opportunity to admire paintings by Florentine as well as Venetian and Flemish artists. Return to the hotel in the afternoon and overnight.
 
Extra info: Uffizi is a palace in Florence that houses one of the oldest museums and galleries in the world, the Galleria degli Uffizi. The works on display at the museum cover the period from the 13th to the 18th century and compose one of the most important collections of Renaissance art.
 

Day 7 Florence – Lucca – Pisa 190klm

Breakfast at our hotel and departure for the fortified villages, the well-preserved states and the idyllic landscapes. Going north, very soon, we will stop in the medieval city of Luca with the unexpected Piazza del Mercato, which retains the shape of the ancient Roman amphitheater, we will be impressed by the octagonal city.

• Visit St. Martin's Cathedral and be impressed by the statue depicting Jesus Christ in black.
• Continue for the most famous attraction of the area, the sloping tower of Pisa, one of the most photographed monuments in the world.

We will walk in the area as well as in the rest of the city, returning to Florence in the afternoon and overnight.
 
Extra info: Pisa is a city with 90,000 inhabitants and is world famous for its Leaning Tower. But, really, it does not have only this attraction. Day 8 Florence – Bologna - Enzo Ferrari Museum- Milan 340klm

Breakfast at our hotel and departure for the city of Bologna, known for its towers and arcades, which reach 38 km and make it unique city in the world.

Day 9 Milan – city tour – Shopping

Breakfast at our hotel and departure for our panoramic tour of Milan. Today we visit see the castle of Sforza and the Piazza del Duomo which is the main square of the city named after the imposing cathedral of Milan. The impressive Cathedral of Milan (Duomo di Milano) is the seat of the city's archbishop and is considered one of the most important cathedrals in the world. We will visit the Vittorio Emanuele II Gallery, named after the first king of a united Italy. The building consists of two glass vaulted galleries and connects the Piazza del Duomo with the Piazza della Scala. La Scala Opera, or La Scala in Milan, is one of the most famous opera houses in the world and took its name from the church that was located in the same place, St. Maria della Scala. Rest day free to spend it as you wish.
 
Highlights

Day 11 Venice – City Tour - Gondola Ride Tour
Breakfast at our hotel and we leave for a special day, as we will get to know the enchanting Venice, the city with 118 islands, 160 canals and 400 bridges, the homeland of Casanova and the traveler Marco Polo.
